EIBTM’s WorldWide Technology Watch 2008 search to discover the latest technological innovations that have a positive impact on meetings, events, incentive travel, conferences and exhibitions is over with the announcement of a winner – Guide Star Research/MeetingMetrics.
MeetingMetrics provides users an online meeting results measurement process. The meeting intelligent system offers a selection of six, specialised, customisable pre and post meeting surveys plus a real time, online results reports for meeting and event managers.
Additionally, the winning entry offers users a unique ROI survey builder and automated online meeting ROI report centre endorsed and recommended by the ROI Institute; a library of over a thousand meeting/event survey questions; and an online, in-meeting, session evaluation survey with real time session and speaker rating reports.

As winners of the 2008 WorldWide Technology Watch, MeetingMetrics has won a free stand at the MPI Technology Village – Stand No P150 – giving them the opportunity to present their product at EIBTM.
The four runners up, all demonstrating highly innovative technological solutions for the industry were:
- MeetingMatrix – PlanView:Net, providing online room diagramming and meeting space viewing
- A2zInc – A2z GADGETS – offering customised key performance indicators for meetings and exhibitions in the form of widely used widget technology used by Google, Yahoo! and Facebook
- Vision Tree Conference – offering rich mobile information for meetings
- Fish Software – using active RFID tags to measure precise attendee movement throughout an exhibition hall.
Exhibitors, Hosted Buyers and trade visitors have the opportunity to meet representatives from MeetingMetrics at the EIBTM 2008 WorldWide Technology Watch Winner Presentation and Drinks Reception at the Turespana Events Lounge at 15.00 on Wednesday 3 December. The reception will be introduced by Corbin Ball with the Award presented by Paul Kennedy MBE, Group Exhibition Director of Reed Travel Exhibitions Meetings and Incentive Events.
Technology at EIBTM also takes centre stage each day with a dedicated ‘Technology Hour’ sponsored by Eventex – Hive the Solution. The three sessions, taking place at 13.00, will highlight latest technological trends, social and networking worlds and how technology can help create interactive events.
